Fall essential this year: Suede!
Nowadays, 70s is the new latest. Most retro themes and styles have made a roaring comeback into our closet and the latest one is SUEDE! Suede is a type of leather with a napped finish, commonly used for jackets, shoes, shirts, purses, furniture and other items. The term comes from the French “gants de Suède”, which literally means “gloves from Sweden”. Because it does not include the tough exterior skin layer, suede has a texture that’s much more smooth than standard leather. It’s a really unique fabric that is hitting the stores nowadays. With Autumn season on, this is the perfect time to invest in a suede piece as it keeps you warm yet comfortable!

PROTIP: There’s a difference between suede- the leather, and suede- the fabric. Apparel made of this fabric may be laundered or dry cleaned, simply by following instructions on the garment’s label.
Suede leather is used to make statement fashion such as gloves, jackets, and handbags. Also used for shoes, with brands like Hush Puppies using it to make their bestsellers.
It gets dirty really quickly, stains easily; even water stains it, so the shoes and jackets are not appropriate for exceedingly wet climates.
- If your product gets wet due to a downpour, use a dry towel to blot of the excess water. This is essential as water tends to ruin it and make it dull.
- Use a small pencil eraser to remove dry stains off the leather.
- Avoid wearing it in conditions that may damage it, such as rainy or snowy weather. Hot, humid weather is also not optimal for this fabric.
- Don’t get any stains on them and take care of the beautiful outfits 😛
