Today I am writing about magic potion that will change your skincare and hair care routine for forever! Dam dam dam…Aloe Vera gel. Off late I love all things natural for my skin and it was inevitable that Aloe Vera will become an essential part of it. Medicinal benefits of Aloe Vera has been known in Ayurveda and Chinese herbal medicine. It works like magic and solve many issues that have been worrying you 🙂 Aloe Vera can be easily extracted from Aloe Vera plant. But I Patanjali Aloe Vera gel that works well and lets face it, more convenient 😛
So here’s a list of five super awesome ways in which I like to use Aloe Vera gel.
1.Use it as a hair conditioner or leave in conditioner
Aloe Vera gel is great at taming fizz in hair. After shampoo, after getting water out from hair, just apply a dollop of Aloe Vera gel on the ends of your hair. This will instantly condition your hair naturally. You can then rinse it out after 5 mins. Another convenient way to do this by mixing water and Aloe Vera gel in a spray bottle and spray it over ends. you can then leave it in. You will instantly see less of frizzyness in hair and make it more smooth.
2. Hair pack for hair growth
Mix Aloe Vera gel and castor oil in the ratio of 2:1 (2 tbsp of aloe with one tbsp of oil) and apply it on scalp. Leave the mixture on scalp for a couple of hours and wash with shampoo. Castor oil is known to be beneficial for hair growth while gel removes the dead cells.
3. Use to clear out acne
See that red bump raising its head out of no way and ruining your face? Don’t worry babe, and just apply Aloe Vera gel on that area at night and wash it off in morning with cold water. Aloe Vera soothes the skin and it won’t cause pain anymore. Slowly redness will go away and it will start to dry out after regular application for 2-3 nights.
4. Use it as a face pack
For oily skin: Mix 2 tbsp Aloe Vera gel, half a spoon honey and few drops of lemon for a clear glowing skin. This pack will not only clear out acne but it will also moisturize the skin. Lemon will help removing tan and acne scars.
For dry skin: Add olive oil or Vitamin E oil (for very dry skin) or almond oil for pigmented skin to the above face pack. If you have sensitive skin, you can skip lemon juice.
5. Use it as a night cream
Take a small drop of Aloe Vera gel and one-two drops of Argan oil in your palm. Mix it well by rubbing between the palms. Just dab it on your face, do not rub.
Do try these out and let me know if it works for you 🙂
